Office of Academic Affairs: Search for the Associate Vice President for Faculty

The University is launching an internal search for the position of Associate Vice President (AVP) for Faculty. This position is open to currently tenured professors at the University of Utah.

The AVP for Faculty serves as the primary institutional resource for faculty matters, acting as an advisor to the Senior Vice President (SVP) and an advocate for the faculty. The AVP works closely with the SVP on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from faculty appointment decisions and tenure considerations to strategic planning and future policy directions. The AVP is a member of the SVP’s Academic Leadership Team and helps make major academic decisions throughout the year.

Nominations can be emailed directly to the SVP office at laura.marks@utah.edu. Nominations should include a statement of qualifications and experience of the nominee. Applications should include a C.V., statement of interest relating experience to this position, and names of three references who could be contacted by the committee. Applications are due on May 19, 2019. The committee will begin reviewing potential candidates on May 20, 2019.
